Browser configuration

To configure your browser to send traffic to DNS Firewall

Obtain your DNS over HTTPS (DoH) address:

  • Go to Web application > Roaming clients > Add new > Manual Installation
  • Enter details about the device:
    • Device Name - Identify the device
    • Device Type - Select the type of device such as 'Desktop', 'Laptop', 'Phone', 'Tablet'.
    • Operating System - Specify the Operating system of the device
    • Groups - If applicable, assign the device to a group
    • Safe mode - Enable this if the DNS Firewall should operate in monitoring mode for this device
  • If you already have a device installed, click on the info icon for the device you want to configure.
  • Copy your unique DNS over HTTPS URL
Mozilla Firefox
  • In Firefox, go to Settings.
  • In the General menu, scroll down to Network Settings.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select Enable DNS over HTTPS.
  • In the Use Provider drop-down menu, select Custom.
  • In the Custom field, enter $DOH_URL
  • Select OK.
Google Chrome
  • In Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Security.
  • Scroll down and turn on Use secure DNS.
  • Select Settings.
  • In the Enter custom provider field, enter https://DOH_URL.

Microsoft Edge
  • In Microsoft Edge, go to Settings.
  • Select Privacy, Search, and Services, and scroll down to Security.
  • Turn on Use secure DNS.
  • Select Choose a service provider.
  • In the Enter custom provider field, enter https://DOH_URL.
Brave
  • In Brave, go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Security.
  • Turn on Use secure DNS.
  • Select With Custom.
  • In the Enter custom provider field, enter https://DOH_URL.
Safari
As of today, Safari does not support DNS over HTTPS.
